The name "DECIDE" derives from the initial letters of the terms "DE-MOCRACY, CI-TIZENSHIP, R-IGHTS and S-TUDIES" (DEMOCRACY, CITIZENSHIP, RIGHTS AND STUDIES).

The DECIDE Platform played a significant role in the municipal elections of October 2023, namely in the electoral constituencies of the City of Beira, Marromeu in Sofala and Zambézia, respectively. As a result of its work, it was recognized as the only national organization that successfully provided real-time electoral results in the City of Beira. The initial phase of vote counting closely aligned with the platform's presentation, including data from election reruns in Guruè and Marromeu. It also denounced various cases of human rights violations through various digital platforms, which led to coordination for other organizations to follow up on the processes.
